Meet Stone Creek Club & Spa's Tennis Pros
Brett Schwartz - Director of Tennis
Brett Schwartz is the current USTA Southern Delegate and Director of Tennis at Stone Creek Club and Spa. Previously, he served as USTA Southern President and CEO, holding several national and sectional leadership roles. Brett coached at LSU, Tulane, and UL Lafayette, earning recognition as Collegiate Head Coach of the Year and ITA Region III Assistant Coach of the Year. He co-authored "Competitive Tennis: Climbing the NTRP Ladder." Brett has won multiple USPTA and USTA awards, is a USPTA Master Professional, and has coached 22 players who went on to play college tennis. He is married to Lori Kieffer and has two children, Kieffer and Kyleigh.
Patrick Lewis - Tennis Professional
Patrick has been with Stone Creek Club and Spa for 10 years. He has played Division and Club Tennis in Germany and has also competed on the satellite tour.
With an extensive teaching background, Patrick works with players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced, and he also coaches juniors at all levels.
His main goal is to help everyone reach their full potential. Patrick brings a great deal of positivity and energy to the club, and he aims to encourage everyone to grow and develop a love for the game.
Kent Shiell - Tennis Professional
Passionate about player development and the joy of the game, Kent Shiell brings both competitive experience and professional expertise to Stone Creek’s tennis program.
Kent began his tennis journey at St. Paul’s High School, where he competed on the varsity team and earned the title of State Runner-Up in the 2018 Division I Boys Doubles Championship. He continued his athletic and academic career at Belmont Abbey College and Loyola University New Orleans, competing as a collegiate tennis player while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and an MBA.
For the past two years, Kent has been a dedicated member of the Stone Creek Tennis Team, leading both junior and adult programs. His coaching philosophy focuses on technical skill, tactical awareness, and confidence-building—helping players at every level unlock their potential and develop a lifelong love for the sport.
Nadia Hitzman - Tennis Professional
Nadia Hitzman is thrilled to be joining the team and teaching at a club that holds such special memories for her. Tennis has played a major role in her life since she began playing at the age of 12. Her passion for the sport led her to train at the prestigious John Newcombe Tennis Academy during part of her high school years.
She continued her tennis journey at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she competed at the collegiate level. After graduating, Nadia transitioned into coaching, most recently teaching at the Avila Golf and Country Club in Tampa, Florida.
Now back home, Nadia is grateful for the opportunity to share her love for the game with the community that helped shape her. Whether working with beginners or experienced players, she looks forward to helping others grow their skills, enjoy the game, and make lasting memories on the court.
